If you were motorcycle touring in Southern California in the mid-80s the bike you wanted was the Harley-Davidson FXRT. It was a sporty, red, pin-striped beauty.

Ever the student of Harley history and SoCal cool, Brad Richards, Vice President of Design and Creative Director for Harley, dove into the details of the ’83 FXRT for a special limited-edition El Diablo Low Rider. The bike is, “a modern expression of the iconic 1983 Harley-Davidson FXRT and a representation of the creative times it was born in,” says Brad.

Gunslinger Custom Paint, a high-end, custom painter from Colorado meticulously crafted the paint for El Diablo by hand using a base layer red, a bright red sunglo (which provides the “candy” effect, two layers of pinstripes, and fades around the panels.

The paint is finished with a dark red metallic coating and finalized with pale gold pinstriping.

A limited quantity of the Low Rider El Diablo, part of the Harley-Davidson Icons Collection, will be available this Fall with a MSRP of $27,999.
