If you’re looking to take an exotic vacation with a great view and interesting design, look no further than the St. Regis hotel bar in the Maldives.  Called the Whale Bar, the marine-inspired destination is softly lit and wrapped completely in wood, made with open spaces and the views in mind.

The bar was designed by Singapore-based WOW Architect and Warner Wong Design. French artist Maya Burman contributed a ceiling mural of sea life work. Plush sofas and armchairs invite you to lounge on the pier and watch the Maldives’ stunning sunset.

The bar was recently nominated for the 2017 World Interior of the Year award, in the bars and restaurants category. The attached hotel was also nominated in the hotels category. The awards will be presented at the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors, held from Nov. 15-17 in Berlin.
