Arper, a furniture company dominant in the worlds of office, hospitality, and home, just made a big move. In January, the company relocated to the trendy design mecca known as Fulton Market. From February 1 to 3, they will celebrate this new chapter with brand activations and special engagements with clients.

The Italian company makes versatile, ergonomic, and sustainable furniture for business, office, and pleasure. In 2022, the brand adopted the motto, “The Project of Living,” a philosophy that caters to a changing society in a post-pandemic world. This means directly asking their audience, “how do we want to live?” Through that dialogue, Arper can adapt to a constantly evolving world and build products that serve the future of hybrid work life, like hot desking in shared spaces, and develop sustainable products that blend seamlessly into our new normal.

Arper’s new digs are inside a splashy, eight-story building designed by Gensler, just blocks away from the buzzy restaurants in Stephanie Izard’s goat empire.  “We want to be part of a thriving and diverse neighborhood that serves both industry professionals and consumers alike. This space showcases our perspective through The Project of Living, offering solutions in an environment that intuitively supports the occupants in a variety of settings,” says Roberto Monti, CEO of Arper.

One hope is to get people to think of Arper beyond office furniture. With a new outdoor space, the brand can demonstrate how a piece like the Ardell armchair can move from the conference room to the rooftop patio. The sled model, made from 80% recycled materials, can also withstand a brutal Chicago winter.

The new 4,500-square-foot space, designed by Charlie Green Studio, is big enough to stage mock design studios and hotel lounges, giving buyers a more immersive experience; a library allows people to browse through color swatches, textiles, and finishes; and a sustainable mindset promotes an open layout, energy-saving utilities, and an abundance of natural light.
