Stefan Sagmeister’s latest design was inspired by an unexpected source: Frida Kahlo’s eyebrows.

+ A collaboration with eyewear brand götti, Stefan created sunglasses that feature a long fluid brow line characteristic of Mexico City’s famed artist.

+ “She is among the few artists whose fame reached such heights that her features—like Salvadore Dali’s moustache or Andy Warhol’s wig—morphed into a visual signifier, a logo,” Stefan said in a statement. “As a designer fascinated by the creation and evolution of such logos, transforming one of them back into a product seemed like the logical thing to do.”

Gensler designs interchangeable Mixu chair for Arper.

+ Using a mixed-materials approach, the Mixu chair can be customized using a combination of recycled materials, fabric, wood, and leather to build its three-part construction.

+ Gensler originally set out to design a plastic chair that would suit a wide range of contract projects, but during research interviews with interior designers, the studio found that it wasn’t something that excited designers. “In response, we realized we needed to create a chair that offered interior designers a degree of authorship and a sense of the human touch,” Product Design Director Daniel Stromborg told Dezeen.
